Instead of a cocktail I am doing a champagne recommendation for the month of February and believe me this one is good! This champagne puts the yellow label Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin to shame unless you're willing to splurge for a bottle of their La Grande Dame; so this Valentine's Day trust me and go with something new and get the Moet & Chandon 2009 Grand Vintage Champagne.
This champagne has a slightly higher price point than that of the yellow label Veuve Clicquot, coming in at $79.99, but if you're lucky you may find it around $68.99 like I did...it is well worth the extra $20. Wine Spectator gives this champagne a 94 and to put that in perspective the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin La Grande Dame 2008 gets a 95 ($129.99) and Dom Perignon gets a 96 ($156.97); needless to say the Moet & Chandon is a pretty good deal in comparison.
I absolutely love this champagne, in fact, I was once a Veuve girl but all I want now is this Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage. So try something new, I guarantee you will love this one.
